RCT Rats is a registered Stud name with NFRS which was achieved with RCT Sweeper getting Best Opposite age at the NFRS Oxford show 2010 and RCT Marwym getting Reserve Best in Show at the NFRS Bath & West 2010.

Today we welcomed two new girls in to our group.

Ramkin Lady Laidrin (aka Lady) and Ramkin Irissa Bloodstar (aka Star). Lady will hopefully be the starting point for our British Blue dumbo line.

Today we were at the MRC/YRC show and collected two new boys from
Toyah @ Hawthorn Rattery.

Today was the Banbury Sound Pet Idol competition. I took Pardrai down to the store and along with the other 11 contestants and we were judged by the Banbury Mayor, Fiona Baker Photography, Pamper Paws and Pets at Home. Pardrai was a little star even though he didn't win.

I entered some of the rats in to a local radio stations competition to be their pet idol for 2010 and had a lovely e-mail today to say Pardrai had made the final 12. We have to meet at the Pets @ Home store for the final on Saturday.

All the kittens from Dory & Darla's litters now have homes lined up and arrangements are being made for them to be collected

It is with great sadness that I have to report that RCT Marwym passed away today. We believe the issues she had when she kittens hadn't cleared up but she certainly didn't show any signs of illness. She will be sorely missed.

RCT Iago & RCT Dory and RCT Freddie & RCT Darla all became parents today. Dory gave birth to 10 little ones and Darla to 13.

Marwym was taken to the vets this morning. She was cold and floppy and the after the vet assessment she is now on strong meds. This now means that she has had to be removed from the kittens until further notice. The kittens are being weaned on to soft food a few days earlier and are doing very well.

We had a really good day at the Bath & West show. Marwym was the little star today and came away with 1st BAA, 2nd AOV Adult, 2nd AOV Challenge, Best Novice, 2nd Adult Challenge and Reserve Best in Show!

Today Rosie past away. We have no idea how old she was as she came from a hoarder who bred her rats endlessly. She raised a litter of 4 and was a wonderful mum to them. She was always so well behaved and will be missed

Flame's babies are doing really well. We have 10 altogether - 6 girls (2 x British blues & 4 x British Blue Agoutis) and 4 boys (2 x British Blues & 2 x British Blue Agoutis). To see their progress please click here.

Flame had her kittens during the afternoon and after a quick check it appears we have 14 little ones.

May hasn't had her kittens as planned and I have decided not to have her re-mated due to her age. It is looking likely that Flame is pregnant so we should have kittens around the 10th May.

Blaze has given us 2 boys and 8 girls all of which are agouti's. They are growing fast and will hopefully start to open their eyes soon! These rats will be paired up with rats from Ramkin Rattery.

We currently have 19 kittens between May and Larina. Larina has 8 - 5 boys (3 British Blue and 2 British Blue Agouti) and 3 girls (all British Blue Agouti) and May has 11 - 5 boys and 6 girls. All are doing very well and growing fast!

Charlie died today. He had suffered a stroke on Dec 27th and seemed to improve but appears to have had another which he didn't survive.
