Blossom's story
A lady on the Fancy-Rats Forum saw an add saying that her owners were ill and could no longer handle the amount of animals they had. She went to visit and came away with lots of very ill and not very well looked after rattie and a mummy and her 4 day old babies because she bit. Basically the lady who had her was a back street breeder and was selling the rat babies but could no longer cope. Blossom had 11 in her first litter, but unfortunately 1 died at 15 days old and then when her first litter were 5 weeks and the boys had been weaned, She saw that she had ballooned. She was building a nest and really snapping at her 5 week old girlies, so she was separated and then about 4 hours later gave birth to her second litter, this time of 13. It turns out that the previous 'breeder' had left her in with the male after giving birth to the first litter and so she had a delayed pregnancy. Basically the whole time she was feeding and looking after her first litter she was still pregnant with the second litter. She's had no rest from babies for what will be 12 weeks. She's about 6 months old herself.
